有这样一个故事，在暴风雨后的一个早晨，沙滩的浅水洼里有许多被暴风雨而卷上来的小鱼。小鱼有几千条，不过用不了多久，这儿的水就会被蒸发干，小鱼也会被晒死。一个小男孩不停地捡起浅水洼里的鱼，向大海用力扔去。过路的行人看见了，认为他不可能将这上千条的鱼扔进海里，便说：“孩子，这么多鱼你救不过来的，你为什么还扔呢，谁在乎呢？”那个男孩头也不回地回答：“鱼儿在乎。”说完，就继续向海里扔去。
