The title of my speech is “What college education means to me”.Now reflecting on the past two and half years of my college experience, I come to realize how much it has shaped me.

Amid the hectic schedule that balances club activities, sports, and academic courses, I feel the rhythm and beauty in the intensity of my high-pitched life, knowing that I ’m on the right way.

And more importantly, college education has set up not only single ships, but also fleets with common destinations. By interacting with friends of common beliefs, I’ve acquired skills of relating to other people.

Now ,as a ship about to make my maiden voyage ,I’m still not in the position to tell what’s waiting ahead of me ,but with a powerful propeller, a precise compass and ardent companions of sailing in the sea of society, I’m ready to be a great sea-explorer.

When we are appreciating the passionate melody of Gloria Estefan, we could hardly imagine that she could return to the stage after her paralysis. In the year 1990, this Cuban singer was knocked down in a traffic accident, and the doctor declared that she might never walk again. But Gloria did not give up and kept up constant exercising. Just one year after the disaster, she stood up again and presented this encouraging song at the Atlanta Olympics.

Whenever I think of Gloria, I can’t help recalling my memory seven years ago, when I first entered university. Naturally shy, ordinary looking, average scores in study, just like an ugly duckling, I seemed to be the least outstanding one in my class. And the successive failures in the beginning led me into despair. “Am I destined to take the back seat to others?” Unwilling to submit to the fate, I paid more efforts on my study as well as many other activities, film dubbing, recital, drama… cause I just want to catch every little opportunity to prove myself. Constant effort yields sure success. Thanks to the competition, I received some awards and most of all, I gained the courage and confidence to face any difficulties in my life journey.

Life is just like farming, and what you can reap depends a lot on your sowing and dedication. Once you have a dream, don’t be hesitant. Your next difficult step may be the one to the top. Keep going forward, even in the toughest time, and never give up.

I can hadle it

I can never forget the summer in 1996. I went through an extremity of despair due to my failure in the National College Entrance Examination. It seemed that my dream of being a university student would never come true. One evening my father came and told me the story of Steven Callahan, who was crossing the Atlantic alone in his sailboat when it struck something and sank. It was a miracle that he survived and was found 76 days later(the longest anyone has survived a shipwreck on a life raft alone). Later in his narrative he wrote these sentences “I tell myself I can handle it .Compared to what others have been through I’m fortunate”.

Hearing these sentences I felt something important struck me. I belived my life would mot be that bad and it was proved to be true. Later during my study in the university I always told myself “I can handle it” when my own goals seemed far off or when my problems seemed too overwhelming and every time I said it ,I always came back to my senses.

Now I work as an English teacher in a middle school. Whenever my students complain about their difficulties in study or want to give up, I will tell the same story of Callahan to them. I just want to make them believe they can handle their difficulties because their circumstances are only bad compared to something better. But others have been through much worse. Then they will build up fortitude.

So here, coming to us from the extreme edge of survival, are words that can give us strength. Whatever you’re going through, tell yourself you can handle it. Compared to what others have been through, you’re fortunate. Tell this to yourself over and over, and it will help you get through the rough spots with little more fortitude.

我能挺过去的

我永生难忘1996年的夏天。由于我在高考中的失利，我感到了极度的失望，我要成为一名大学生的梦想似乎是无法实现了。一天傍晚，我的父亲来给我讲了一个关于史蒂文·卡拉汉的故事，史蒂文独自驾驶着帆船横渡大西洋，途中船遇难下沉，但是他却活了下来并在76天后被人发现。(他是世界上遇海滩在救生艇中存活最长时间的人了)。后来卡拉汉在他的叙述中写到“我告诉自己一定可以挺过去的，跟别人的遭遇相比，我已经算是幸运的.了”。

现在我在一所中学教英语，每当学生们报怨学习的困难或是想放弃时，我就给他们讲卡拉汉的故事，我就是想让他们相信他们可以从困难中挺过去的，因为困境都是相对而言的，有些人比我们更不幸，然后他们就会在自己心中建立起永不放弃的信念。

大家下午好！

今天我们开这个会，就是分析上学期期末考试情况并对本学期初一年级的教学工作提出一些建议。

一、期末成绩分析

大家看一下本学科的成绩，这次全区统考，我们在进行班与班的成绩比较的同时，更重要的是看一看我校初一教学成绩在全区所处的位置。（以考试成绩表进行分析)

二、教学工作的努力方向

众所周知，七年级第二学期是初一教学的一个最重要的教学阶段。经过一个学期的学习和生活，初一学生们的生理、心理、思想、学习方式方法等方面都有了不小的变化。如学生们的自尊心、荣誉感、表现欲望迅速增强，独立思考能力也不断提升。渴求上进的思想特点明显。社会性意识逐步增强，渴望参加各种活动，但缺乏自我约束和控制能力。大部分学生经过半个学期的学习，已经适应了中学的学习特点，顺利完成了由小学向中学的过度；但是，还有一部分学生，由于种种原因，成绩不太理想，还没有完成这个过度，因此，老师在日常的教学中和课余时间就应该帮助人这部分学生，培养他们正确的学习习惯和科学的中学学习方法，让他们逐步养成良好的学习习惯、生活习惯、遵规守纪的习惯。避免发生学习成绩两极分化的现象，争取不让一名学生掉队。我们可以想一下，半年后，到了初二年级，又增加了新的科目，这部分学生学习就会更加吃累了。

三、本学期教育、教学工作建议

针对期末考试成绩和本学期初一教学的努力方向，结合初一学生特点，希望各位老师做好以下几项工作：

（一）狠抓班级管理：

要想实现本学期的教学目标，任何一个班级都不能拖后腿，不允许出现乱班。除了班主任，全体任课教师也是班级管理的主要力量，不要因为咱们不是班主任，就不对学生进行教育。任课教师要团结在班主任周围，齐抓共管，分工协作。当然全体班主任也要动员一切力量，采取一切必要措施，充分调动教师和家长的积极性，怀着强烈的责任感，深入细致地做好工作。当然我们初一年级的班主任在年级主任段国丽老师的带领下，总是早来晚走，工作兢兢业业，工作十分认真。如齐晓丽、温素钦、王海荣、任满良、王佩、李雪燕老师（现在让侯月儒老师代班主任），年龄虽然有差别，但是班级管理经验丰富。侯月儒、崔国华、王思思老师班主任工作不长，但班主任工作做得有声有色。抓班级管理我们可以从以下几个方面做起：首先老师们要做好学生的思想工作，尤其是学习上后进的学生思想工作，使班级和课堂稳定，比如老师们可以采取正面提要求、个别谈话、集中精力攻难点（对屡教屡犯的学生）的办法加以解决。老师们要有钉子精神，要有“软磨硬泡”的耐心，对这学习后进、有不良习惯的.学生，不能希望三两次谈话就能解决问题，要一个一个地解决。

其次，班主任要充分调动班干部工作的积极性。建立班级日志，记录每天班内纪律、学习等方面的问题，当天出现的问题班主任要当天解决。

第三，班主任和任课教师要抓实学生们的纪律，尤其是课堂纪律和自习课纪律，为学生学习创造好的环境。老师们，我们可以思考一下，为什么一些课学生不认真听?是学生的问题，还是老师的问题?为什么有的教师上课学生特别遵守纪律呢？这都是我们应该思考的问题。

第四，我们一定要坚决消灭“管教不管学的现象”。要立足课堂教学，向管理要效益，向课堂40分钟要质量，坚决消灭课堂教学的管理漏洞。要经常深入到学生中间了解班情、学情。形成人人参与管理、人人大胆管理的好风气。

（二）抓好教学环节的落实：

教师的教学成果最终要体现在学生的学习成绩提高上。注重教学过程，就是要求教师加强每一教学环节的设计与实施，克服教学过程的无序性、盲目性。要精心设计好每一节课，课堂问题要符合初一学生特点，问得太深学生不能回答，问得太浅，学生觉得没有意思。因此要求问题设计类型要多，方法要活，能使学生思路开阔、灵活，加强发散性思维的训练，使学生能力得到全面提高。为此，提以下几点要求：

1、发扬备课组团队协作精神，统筹安排各科的教学工作。各备课组要认真学习新课程标准，将课改的理念渗透到教学中，研究教材教法、学情学法，根据学生实际情况制定本学科教学方案。优化课堂教学结构，积极发挥集体智慧，打好团体战。各学科要做到“统一要求、统一备课、统一进度、统一考查”。

2、备课要求上，各位教师必须进行集体备课活动，做到定点定时定内容，重点抓如何去“备学生”，如何去“备课堂”和怎样去“备教学方法”，做到内容与形式的有机统一。

3、上课要求，各位教师必须上好每一节课，严格遵循教学规律，认真处理好教学中的“导”与“学”关系，不断提高教学效益，向40分钟要质量。

4、老师们要认真批改作业，不要简单地画一个对和错，批给时要写一些激励式的语言，把作业批改作为与学生谈心交流的一种形式，有的教师已经从中获益，没有试过的老师可以试一试。

5、教学中注重训练学生的审题能力，解题能力和答题规范能力。审题要善于审“关键词、句”。解题要培养学生答题的准确性。这是成绩提高的关键点。

6、教学中注意分层教学。教学中在重视基础知识的同时，还要注重讲清教材的结构；培养学生独立思考的能力；当然，随着时间的推移，学生的差异也是越来越明显，尤其是数学和英语，因此要求老师们通过分层教学，让每一名学生课有所学，练有所得，思有所悟。同时教师在分层教学的同时，可以发挥学习小组的作用，互帮互学，我们的目标就是不让一名学生掉队，成绩必须整体提升。

7、做好自习课辅导，任课教师要勤到所教班级进行自习课辅导，及时发现学生们在知识点掌握上存在的问题，个性问题个别辅导，共性问题占用公开讲。当天的问题当天解决。

8、用好资料。对于资料的使用，老师要提前做，删除废、错题。练习要扎实，有讲有练，有练必查，有查必讲，有错必改，力争做到讲过的都会，会的不失分。

在过去的一个学期里，我们在教育局的正确领导下，围绕局中心工作，坚持科学发展观，狠抓教育质量，努力追求学校的内涵开展。现将我校的一些做法和大家做以交流：

课程设置标准化。我校认真执行国家课程设置方案，开足开齐课程，学校按上级，每个班级学生人数都控制在45人以下。 特色课程标准化。学校还在周三下午特设两节阅读课，使课外阅读课程化。开设5分钟的晨诵课，丰富学生的文化积淀，弘扬民族文化。周五下午是艺术提高学习和普及班、兴趣班活动时间，确保学生全面开展。

学校严格按规定控制辅导资料的使用，节假日不组织学生补课，家庭作业要求一二年级晚上不留书面作业，三四年级半个小时，五六年级晚上最多一个小时，切实减轻学生过重课业负担。 班级管理标准化。教育的目的在于唤醒、鼓舞和鼓励，教育比教学更重要。为此，班级管理方面，我们以星级评比为依托，以卫生纪律为重点，以班级量化考核为约束和引领，开展班主任比武活动，举行班主任优秀论文和德育案例书写活动，定期举行班主任经历交流和班会观摩，不断提升班主任的育人水平。促使班级管理标准，班风良好。教师备课实行集体备课制，每天都有小组教研时间和主题，切实保障了备课的质量。

20xx年，根据我校课堂教学实际，概括了“四环节”教学模式。围绕这一模式，我们以打造高效课堂为抓手，展开研究和探索：

1、加大实践探索，逐环突破，追求高效。我们对课前预习、交流释疑、稳固拓展、课堂检测等四个环节分别进展深入的探讨和实践，组织相关的研讨课、论文展评等，从实践中发现问题，解决问题，让我们教学思想更加成熟。

3、迅速健全制度，激发干劲，力促高效。出台《课堂教学评价标准》，以此来标准和引领教师的课堂教学方向。修订《考勤制度》，从常规教学、教学成绩、考勤、教研教改、班主任等方面对教师进展量化，同时，从常规工作、教学质量、教学水平三个方面按40%、30%、30%的比例对六个年级进展考核，实行课改年级管理制。

4、狠抓集体教研，瞄准常态，提升质量。我们变以往的教研为天天教研，同学科、同年级教师每天要进展集体教研，教研内容主要为：提前两天的备课内容、教学中的疑难、课后题答案的交流、当天教学进度的统一等。高效果课堂不是一节两节的高效，为让每一节都能高效，我们抓好三环节研课、上课、和评课。学校组织小组研讨课来检测小组教研质量。提高“软实力”。即提高教师的素质，我们通过读书、集体教研、网络教研以及走出去和请进来的培训和学习，不断提高教师的素养，为高效课堂打好根底。定期组织教师撰写高效课堂论文，通过名师展示课、人人达标课、青年教师赛讲课提高教师素质。

5、领导深入一线，校长引航，多方实施。校长是课改的领跑者，在校长的带着下，全体领导班子靠前指挥、深入一线、深入教研、深入教育教学的方方面面。学校领导是教育科研的领头人，是学科骨干，我们由年级过关制到领导分包学科制，充分发挥领导的组织和引领作用，多措实施，促使高效课堂稳步推进。

我们开拓创新的同时不忘脚踏实地，取得了较为满意效果。回忆走过的路，以下几点体会可供大家参考：

1、抓实教研，是提高教师专业能力的重要的.途径。集体教研要变一人经历为多人经历，变一人进步为多人进步，让教师在教学思想相互碰撞中获得成长。

2、咬定质量不放松，立足课堂要质量。没有效果的课堂不是好课，不能让学生取得好成绩，不能让他们获得知识和能力的课堂不是好课。教育质量提高主阵地在课堂，任何以扼杀学生的安康作为代价的课堂改革都会受到应有的惩罚。

3、定期质量检测与分析，是保障教学质量的重要手段。我们学校通过定期的三清，及时把握和了解教师的教和学生的学，随时跟进教学指导与引领，促使学校教育教学高效推进。

各位领导、各位同仁：

下午好！承蒙领导抬爱，让我在会上发言。但领导没有明确我讲小结还是反思。多年的教师经历告诉我：要是作小结，那是介绍经验；要是反思那就是检讨了。思来想去，我所取得的成绩远达不到介绍经验的程度；但倒也没到要作检讨的份上。于是决定说几句实话。鲁迅先生说过：总是说实话的人会被人打死的，但要是没人说实话，大家都会被憋死。我以为当今社会还是个民主的、法制的社会，说几句实话还不至于被打死。闲话少叙，言归正传。我下面就针对目前的现状谈谈个人的管见。

既然是期中质量分析，就不能不谈分数。对于分数，我的观点是：战略上藐视它，战术上重视它。从长远看，分数不是学生的全部，也不是教师工作的最终目标。但在某个阶段，分数又是衡量教师教、学生学的标准之一，通过分数我们可以看到这一阶段的教与学的成果。这是定量的评价，课程标准要求定量评价要与定性评价相结合。也就是还要看到某个教师或某个学生在教与学方面有哪些进步。比如一个学生上次考了5分，这次考了50分，虽还是年级最后，但在性质已有了本质的变化，对这样的学生当然就不能仅以这次的分数对他进行评价了。

我知道要老师们淡化分数是不现实的。即使你愿意，家长（不是全部）不同意，领导更不会支持。因为分数对于学生只是在某个阶段的某个方面的知识状况，并不真正影响他们的前途。而对于家长则可能是面子、是对未来一厢情愿的憧憬；对教师则是荣誉或许还有点小小的经济利益，本来这

点小钱不足以让老师们拼命的，可惜教书先生们实在是太穷了，最近网上流行的有关教师的调侃就很能说明这一点！分数对于领导则是政绩，也是政府的脸面。我们南通市从上到下不都公然将分数作为教学质量的唯一标准吗？这是逆潮流而动，我坚信这种现状是不会持续很久的。

话说回来了。我跟分数没仇，我也认为目前还只得依据这一手段来选拔人才。但我觉得我们可以改变获得分数的方式方法，这也是现在搞课改的意义，这就是我要说的第二点：“求变”。

说起“改革”、“革新”很多人直摇头，包括一些领导也认为那只是哄哄人的：大的'教育背景不改变，严峻的就业形势得不到缓解，说什么都是白搭，提高质量的唯一法宝——楸！其实，这只是我们的惯性思维在作怪。给大家讲个故事，前天我在家做南瓜饼，我非常认真细致的努力的将饼做成标准的圆形，这时旁边的女儿问我可不可以将饼做成一颗爱心。我愣了一下说：行啊。女儿立刻以极大的热情加入到做饼的劳动中。我感受到她只有在吃肯德鸡才有的专注与满足！约定俗成的东西不一定就是唯一的，改变原来很容易！饼做成圆的，这就是惯性思维，在无意间强调了它的外型，却忽视了饼是用来吃的这一根本目的。饼的形状其实并不重要，只要它能激起人们的食欲就行了。这正如我们都认为学生做作业是应该的，却忽视做作业的目的是为了学习科学知识，培养科学精神。也正如我们都强调要按要求特别是领导的要求做工作，却忘记了思考哪些要求是有利于教育教学工作的。类似的只重形式忽视实质的现象在我们身边屡见不鲜。而在教育教学的管理中更为突出。为了应付检查、推卸责任，各种形式主义的政策层出不穷。我想这也是我们基层教师最为厌恶的吧！

提到教育教学的管理，我想应分为两个层次。一个是领导对教师的管理，另一个是教师对学生的管理。我不是领导，对前者不大了解，不敢妄言。对于后者我认为无非是科学、人本的精神。科学管理就是依照法律的要求，根据教育规律进行有效的管理。很奇怪的是现在很多人也包括部分领导很不屑于法律的存在。也许我比较天真。我始终认为法律就是法律，是不可觊越的。否则将是很危险的！

一、向管理要质量

1、高度重视，提高认识，树立打赢质量攻坚战的必胜信心。全体老师要进一步提高认识，统一思想，统一意志，随着“双高双普”工作的实施，大家要明确我校在全县单设初中所处的

位置，我们没有理由为失败找借口，而要树立为成功想办法的信念，必须迎难而上，决不放弃任何一个学生，我相信，只要我们形成“人人关注质量，人人抓质量”的良好氛围，就一定能够实现我校质量提升的目标。

2、制订计划，统揽全局，提高全校教育教学质量及水平。教导处要拿出切实可行的质量提升方案，并抓好各项工作贯彻落

实，要通过学校组织的各种检测，实施质量，对质量出现严重下滑的学科和老师拿出处理意见，限期纠改。长期以来，我校数学和英语两大学科质量一直处于弱势地位，相应教师应加强学习其他学校教师好的经验和做法，增强责任意识和敬业精神，关心爱护全体学生，认真探索、研究好的教法、学法，不断增强教育教学能力，结合“三问三解三查”教师帮扶困难学生活动做好学困生的帮扶转化，努力提高教学质量。

在教学指导方面，教导处要多思考、多研究、多指导，为科任教师提高质量出谋划策。各学科教师要结合学校开展的教师“五个一”、领导“六个一”活动，进一步强化敬业精神与责任意识，逐步提高师德水平，进一步提高教师创新能力和素质及业务能力。

3、各年级包抓领导要对本年级质量负责，确保质量中心不位移。学校对各年级包抓领导将实行“一线工作制”、“承包责任制”、“责任追究制”，包抓领导必须动真格、下实手抓质量。工作要靠前，一线指导，进班级，进课堂，查自习、查辅导、查教案、查作业，发现问题，及时指导纠改。工作要细要实，不留死角，要认真探索和实践行之有效的质量提升精细化管理办法，时刻将质量提升记在心上，抓在手上，确保质量稳中有升。

4、年级组长、教研组长、学科小组长要各司其职，落实抓质量的具体措施。

年级组长要从全年级学生质量提高的'大局着眼，小处着手，统筹兼顾，带领本年级教师做好学生的思想教育工作，对学生要进行前途

理想教育，鼓励学生树立自信，培养学生你追我赶、力争上游的竞争意识，互助合作、团结奋进的协作意识，善思勤学、知难而进的求索意识，尽一切可能挖掘学生的学习潜力。在日常工作中，年级组长要大胆工作，善于创新，发现问题，及时和包抓领导协商解决，对学生中出现的歪风邪气必须下硬手、出实招进行彻底纠正，保证本年级班风正、学风浓，为提高质量营造良好氛围。

教研组长要切实负起责任，做好本组教师的业务指导工作。“打铁还需自身硬”，教研组长必须不断提高自身业务水平，关注前沿教育教学理论，阅读教育教学专著，具备较高的教育教学指导能力。要站在本学科发展的制高点，及时发现困绕本学科教师提高质量的疑难和困惑，带领本学科教师攻坚克难，解决制约质量提升的瓶颈。

3、引导老师积极开展教学反思，撰写教育教学论文。

教学水平的提高是一个循序渐进、日积月累的过程，在教育教学中，我们要勤于总结成功经验，及时反思不足和失误，在反思中寻找方法，寻找出路，将自己的思考撰写成教育教学论文，实现“教学—反思—教学”的螺旋式上升，从而不断提高教育教学水平。

For those of you who are black -- considering the evidence evidently is that there were white people who were responsible -- you can be filled with bitterness and with hatred and a desire for revenge.

We can move in that direction as a country in greater polarization -- black people amongst blacks and white amongst whites filled with hatred toward one another. Or we can make an effort as Martin Luther King did to understand and to comprehend and replace that violence that stain of bloodshed that has spread across our land with an effort to understand compassion and love.

For those of you who are black and are tempted to fill with -- be filled with hatred and mistrust of the injustice of such an act against all white people I would only say that I can also feel in my own heart the same kind of feeling. I had a member of my family killed but he was killed by a white man.

But we have to make an effort in the United States. We have to make an effort to understand to get beyond or go beyond these rather difficult times.
