Good afternoon, I am very nice to make a speech here! This time, Id like to talk something about English. As everyone knows. English language is very important today. It is now used everywhere in the world. I love English. When I was eight, my mother sent me to an English school. At there, I played games and sang English songs with other children . I also often read English following the tapes and watch English cartoons at home. By talking with English people, I have made more and more friends as well as improved my oral English. Then I discovered the beauty of the language, and began my colorful dream in the English world. It makes me confident and brings me great pleasure. After the arduous military training，I get absolutely absorbed in my studies. The classes given by the teachers are excellent. They provide us with information not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well. They easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as I can. Frankly speaking，at first I had some difficulty following the teachers. However，through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers guidance，I made remarkable progress. Now Ive benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports. Learning is a long process; Ill keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. I also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be truly happy.

So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare. Besides study and social practice，there are entertainments as well. I do body building every day，hoping to keep healthy and energetic. Campus life is the most splendid time. But different people have different choices. The majority of students cherish their beautiful season and cherish the hope that one day theyll become outstanding. But there are indeed some students still under ignorance. They gather together for eating，drinking or playing cards. Theyre busy in searching for a girlfriend or a boyfriend. 今天，很荣幸地作为孩子的英语老师，和大家共同探讨英语学习的问题，本人水平有限，不当之处，敬请批评指正。

首先简单说一下刚刚过去的期中教学检测的情况。这次考试总体还是不错的，但是不能说明一切，但却可以反映一些您的孩子在学校里的学习情况。因为孩子们都是在三年级开始学英语的，经过近两年的学习，他们之间已经拉开了不小的差距。一些学生学习兴趣浓，学习劲头足，在课堂上能够积极思维，踊跃发言，课后也能够及时复习和巩固，形成了良性循环的好势头。先看试卷，也有一些学生，平时学习态度不认真，书面作业拖延不交，口头作业根本不完成，基础不扎实，结果功亏一篑，学习自然也成了件头痛事，麻烦事。我认为，孩子学习上的差别关键与孩子的学习习惯和方法有关。有的孩子的习惯非常好，能够自觉主动的按时完成老师的要求，有的孩子没有养成好习惯，不知道为什么要学习和怎样高效地学习，学习也就没有了积极性和主动性了。那么怎样帮助孩子学好英语呢?下面我将作业的情况和需要家长们配合的地方做一下说明。

1、听读的作业：请务必督促学生在家听英语并跟读，直到熟练，最好能背诵，这样做可以培养语感，对孩子的学习有很大帮助。

2.星号单词的默写：每一单元的五角星词是要求会听说读写的，家长可以让学生自己默写或者说中文意思学生写英文都可以，但最重要的是在学生默写完后，督促他们对着书本及时更正。

3.抄写的作业：布置抄写单词，其目的不在于抄多少遍，而在于让学生记住这些单词。但是在实际操作中，我发现学生不重视这项作业，认为只是抄抄而已，书写潦草，只求速度，更别说是去背了，结果所学知识得不到巩固，几次下来，他就会掉队了，而且更没有了学习的积极性，久而久之，形成恶性循环。因此，恳请各位家长在家里要督促孩子保质保量地完成英语作业。而且只要有背诵的作业都需要签名，以便老师及时掌握学习情况，最好写清楚掌握到什么情况，比如已读熟，或已背诵，或哪个词不会读等等。实际上，我们班签字的情况不是很理想，每次都会有部分同学找各种理由推脱。所以建议家长及时检查过问孩子的作业情况，督促孩子按时完成作业，签好字。

另外，我认为多和老师沟通和交流也很重要，这样可以及时发现问题并及时纠正错误。最好不要等着老师去跟你联系，因为有的孩子多次不写作业或不带课本怕被批评，就不告诉老师家长的号码，或者说一个空号和停机的号，给家校沟通带来不便。

总之，只要孩子每天进步一小步，就会向成功迈进一大步，不妨把您的时间多一点留给孩子,把您的关心多一点送给孩子 ,把您的信心多一点让给孩子，孩子会带给你很大的惊喜。最后，送给大家一句话以共勉，教育孩子的时候要常用拇指---多鼓励，慎用食指---少批评。 祝愿各位家长身体健康，工作顺利，谢谢。
