good morning, ladies and gentlemen. today i want to tell you a story about one of my friends, a lovely and smart girl who is always ready to help others. being our grade leader, she is good at both work and study. in many people's opinion, she is excellent and perfect. but one day she told me she was gloomy and insecure. people around her considered her outstanding and flawless, thinking she could handle everything. but the more she thought about herself, the more disappointed she became. she found that she was far from perfection. last week, she didn't do well in her french quiz, and the day before yesterday, she was late for a conference. she felt depressed and frustrated, because she failed to be a perfect girl without any mistakes.

i was surprised to hear that for i thought she had every reason to be confident. however, the expectation of perfection has become a burden to her. i told her no one could be perfect and i suggested she find her own position.

in fact, people are so eager to be perfect that they demand too much of themselves. they want to be special and unique, and they want to have no defects or weaknesses. however, we can never avoid mistakes and errors. it's impossible for us to be a superman or a superwoman. no matter how successful we are, there are always some flaws. if we hold that everything should be perfect, we would be overcritical.

my friend now has changed her attitude. she accepts her shortcomings but still keeps a positive outlook. she is even more active and doesn't allow the mistakes to hinder her pursuit of excellence. and i think that's the way we should be!that's all. thank you!

I began to learn English when I was 8 years old.At that moment,I do not like English.I connot remember all the words which I have learnt.I think it is very difficult for me to learn it well.So I cannot read English loudly and I never answer the questions in the English classes.

Even if my English is very bad, my teacher stll encourages me to learn English hard and he gives me some ways to learn English. He tells me to read passages loudly and listen to the English tapes everyday morning.In order to progress my writing he also asks me to write some articles at times. I like listen to the English songs,he suggests me to sing the English songs.As a result of his ways my English becomes well.

In this day and age, environmental degradation presents great danger to the public. People in my country, and other places, have to bear polluted water and haze day after day. As public awareness of the need for environmental protection grows in these countries, it is urgent to learn how to establish a green life style.

To achieve a green life style, we must adjust our behavior. This can be done even with simple things. For example, we could sort out our trash for better recycling. At home, we can use lights and other electricity only when needed. We should properly maintain air conditioners twice a year so they will run efficiently, and, even more importantly, make sure doors and windows fit properly and are sealed so that we can use less energy in heating and cooling. Other simple steps that make a big difference include using public transportation instead of driving private cars.

Commuters can choose to take buses, subways or share cars with others, which not only relieves traffic jams but also reduces gas emission.

In my mind, it is high time to establish a general concept of sustainable development and green life style in China. The Earth has provided humans what they need; it is time to pay back. Only through a green life, can we ensure that we and our children live in an environment with green water and mountains, without traffic jams, and in an era with better living habits.
